King Kamehameha IV Cloak Returns to Palace: The Daughters will soon be unveiling the full-length ‘o‘o (yellow) and ‘i‘iwi (red) feather cloak of Alexander Liholiho, King Kamehameha IV, in a ceremony at the Palace on Saturday, February 9th, at 1:30 PM. Hawaiian protocol will be used for the occasion under the direction of renowned Kumu Hula Kaha‘i Topolinski. The event is open to the public, with light refreshments to follow the ceremony. A Warrior's Account of the Battle of Nu'uanu: Join the Daughters for the April Membership Meeting: Jerry A Walker, PhD, will present a lecture entitled "A Warrior's Account of the Battle of Nu'uanu". Jerry Walker is a genealogist, researcher, lua master, and co-author of "Kamehameha's Children Today". Admission is free, guests are welcome, and light refreshments will be served. Lecture will begin at 4:30 PM, in Emmalani Hale at Queen Emma Summer Palace.

Sample and purchase homemade preserves, jellies and chutneys - again all created with aloha by Daughters of Hawai'i - visit booths filled with a variety of unique items presented by Island crafters - bid on "one-of-a-kind treaures" at the "White Elephant Sale" - and of course indulge in the most ono foods ever. The Palace is also open for all to enjoy. "A Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace" is a day not to be missed - and one to be savored by all! Minimal admission fee. All proceeds to benefit Queen Emma Summer Palace and Hulihe'e Palace.
